Elwood McQuaid is the Editor in Chief of Israel My Glory magazine, published by Friends of Israel.
The end of the rein of Hitler didn't end feelings of hatred toward the Jews and Israel. In one sense it was only the beginning. This can be seen via threats from Iran and their dedication to eradicate Israel as they desire to develop nuclear weapons. Because of this, McQuaid believes Iran to be Israel's greatest threat.
McQuaid feels that American and European leaders have down-played the idea of jihad which is the rule by the sword. Many Muslims, on the other hand, feel jihad is justified because of what the Koran says about this concept. Consequently, radical Islam is on the rise while moderate Islam remains rather quiet.
McQuaid commented that many Israeli citizens feel disengagement from Gaza was a tragic failure. He feels that land given up for peace merely compounds tragedy for tragedy, as the land that's given up merely becomes a launching pad for future terrorist acts.
