Peace Palaces/Transcendental Meditation

Host:Ingrid Schlueter
Guest:Greg Hubbard
Listen:RealAudio | Windows Media | MP3 | Order Tape or CD

Greg Hubbard is Pastor of the Center Evangelical Free Church of Smith Center, Kansas.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of India, a proponent of Transcendental Meditation, gained a measure of popularity with the hippie culture of the 1960's. Being touted as a remedy for good health, long life and productivity, TM has once again emerged to the point that the Maharishi has been able to establish both a university, as well as a model city in Iowa, all based upon the use of TM.

Transcendental Meditation is a spiritually dangerous practice that involves the emptying of the mind. This is merely another avenue of Eastern mysticism that's part of what's known in the West as the New Age movement. In this movement, individuals feel that by meditating and opening up their minds to the spirit realm, they can control the minds of others and therefore obtain world peace.

Pastor Greg Hubbard appeared on Crosstalk to discuss the Maharishi's latest outreach effort; a palace in Smith Center, Kansas that is meant to be a center for a U.S. peace government.
