Vic referenced Noah Hutchings of Southwest Radio Church who has a leaflet entitled, Is Your Church Going Purpose Driven? The booklet documents the changes recommended by Dr. Rick Warren's Purpose Driven movement that attempts to change churches from a traditional format to his Purpose Driven model.
The leaflet discusses 8 published steps that churches are asked to execute in order to become a purpose driven church. Since congregants are not made aware of this until the fourth step, Hutchings informs readers of 24 indicators that may indicate that a church is becoming purpose driven. Some of these changes include: Changes in music to a rock style; removal of hymn books; choir elimination; replacement of the organ and piano with heavy-metal rock instruments; repetitive singing of praise lyrics; allowance of casual dress; eliminating of business meetings and church committees, deacon boards, etc., and more.
Vic verifies this information by quoting Rick Warren's own "Ministry Toolbox" and then takes comments from callers.
