As home schooling increases in popularity, materials to help parents along the way have been created as well. One source is
The Old Schoolhouse magazine, co-published by Gena Suarez and her husband.
The Old Schoolhouse magazine came about for Gena because of her interest in journalism along with past experience selling curriculum on the Internet. As parents purchased materials from her, they also had questions about home schooling. So rather than answer the same questions over and over, Gena and her husband started a home school newsletter that has grown to a magazine of over 200 pages.
Related issues discussed include: home school burnout and what to do about it, the types of materials available, special needs home schooling, and college options.
