Royce Dunn is the founder and national director of Life Chain.
Life Chain began in 1985 as a small organization under a different name. They prayed for creative ideas that would enable them to present abortion to the community in such a way that fellow citizens would see abortion for what it really is.
According to Dunn, today, Life Chain is not primarily about witnessing to the public. Instead, for those involved, the primary purpose of Life Chain is to receive the ministry that God has for the church.
The first Sunday in October is always national Life Chain Sunday. Over 1,150 cities and towns will be involved this year.
Cheryl Sullenger is a spokesperson for Operation Rescue.
Operation Rescue has tried numerous legal avenues to expose the dangers of abortion, from going to the Kansas Board of Healing Arts to convening a grand jury, but in one particular case, the grand jury was blocked from getting the information they needed so they were unable to hand out indictments.
The state attorney general has been conducting investigations into abortion clinics that have been suspected of concealing child rape and performing illegal late term abortions. This has placed the attorney general in line for considerable media criticism and his opponent for attorney general in the next election has made this a campaign issue as well.
On another front, Cheryl recounts how Operation Rescue in Witchita has been able to purchase an abortion clinic building with the hope of turning it into a memorial for the pre-born as well as offices for continued work against the abortion lobby.
