"RFID" stands for Radio Frequency Identification. Radio frequency identification is executed via tiny electronic chips. These chips are hooked up to miniature antennas and are powered by reader devices.
Liz lists the various commerce advantages of chip identification. For example, businesses can more easily track product inventory as well as track consumer purchases and habits.
Also discussed are the personal privacy rights implications, stores and companies that are currently embracing this technology, and how this technology is currently being used for human implantation.
