Take a government institution that throws out the realization of sin, throw in many children being educated in man-centered philosophies for 30 hours or more a week, and you have a recipe for eventual failure.
The reason for this is because public schools start without biblical knowledge. The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, therefore since public schools don't start with the beginning of wisdom, we can't expect them to produce a knowledgable end product.
