Should the Mandatory Draft be Reinstated?

Debbie Hopper is the director of Mothers Against the Draft.
Debbie believes that compulsory national service is anti-American. She feels it's a socialist concept that violates every principle that this nation was founded upon.
With troops in 150 countries, Debbie says our military is overstretched and at the breaking point. In other words, we don't have enough troops to not only meet our overseas commitments but also to protect America.
Debbie feels we won't see a straight draft but instead a system of compulsory national service where young people will be given an option to serve two years in the military, the Peace Corps, or perhaps homeland security.
