The Bible in Public School Curriculum

Dr. Dennis Cuddy is a political analyst, historian and columnist with "News and Views".
A public school Bible curriculum has been making national news called The Bible Literacy Project. Although this may sound good on the surface, the course is fraught with errors.
For example, it incorrectly states that Jesus used parables so that all his listeners would grasp his messages.
It also states that most Jews and Christians do not see Genesis as a literal account of God's creation and asks students to look up examples of other ancient literature and mythology of the origin of the world.
Dr. Cuddy also discusses the United Nations background behind this course along with the current feelings regarding young people and religion and how religion is increasingly being viewed as a psychological ailment.
This program originally aired January 31, 2006.
