David Barton is Founder and President of WallBuilders.
Included are portions of a message by David Barton on "The Role of Christians and Pastors in Civil Government", at a VCY Rally in April, 2004. He presented evidence that at our nation's beginning, including the writing of the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, the development of the U.S. Constitution, and the actions of our early leaders at all levels of government, the contribution of Christians--especially pastors--was not only accepted, but was considered to be one of the most crucial aspects of the success of our new nation.
This even included sermons applying Biblical principles to political parties and candidates, and the admonition by pastors to their people on howto vote. Such church involvement was common until the 1950's when restrictions were placed on 501.c.3 nonprofit organizations.
