Holy Humor Sunday? Bubble machines, kites and plastic butterflies in the sanctuary? Clowns acting as ushers? Satirical skits performed on a sanctuary stage? With this "Greatest Show on Earth" mentality, one can only wonder who these churches are worshipping; P.T. Barnum or Jesus Christ?
Ingrid Schlueter shows how this "circus church" mentality is rooted in the belief that a church must draw a crowd. Believing this way only works to scatter the flock because it reveals how pastors have abandoned their confidence in the Word of God.
Ingrid then shows how this silliness and blasphemy is now causing thinking people to move toward something more substantive. She describes how true seekers can avoid falling into yet another deceptive church and instead find a true, Bible believing church.
