Two Bloody Wisconsin Legislative Proposals
This is a special legislative alert for Wisconsin residents. There are two pieces of legislation that are before the state legislature that need citizen input. If both of them become law, they will redefine when life begins, mandate an increase in the number of abortions in Wisconsin, and legalize physician assisted suicide in the state by redefining suicide.
1. On January 23rd, just one day after the 35th Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, The Wisconsin State Assembly is expected to vote on Assembly Bill 377 which mandates that hospitals provide, upon request, the so-called “morning after pill” to alleged victims of sexual assault. One of the ways this super dose of birth control works is to kill the embryonic baby by preventing implantation in the mother’s womb. In other words, it acts as a chemical abortion. This legislation mandates that the hospital and the employee participate even if its in violation of their own conscience. In doing so, the bill also redefines life as starting at implantation, rather than at conception. Wisconsin residents need to give their views to their state representatives. This can be done by contacting the toll free legislative hotline at 1-800-362-9472.
2. The Wisconsin State Senate has scheduled a public hearing on Senate Bill 151. If passed into law, this bill would make physician assisted suicide legal in Wisconsin. The bill also redefines suicide by stating that if a person actually takes the deadly medication prescribed by a doctor, it will not constitute suicide.
The public hearing on Senate Bill 151 is scheduled for
Wednesday, January 23rd at 10am
Room 411 South in the Wisconsin State Capitol
This bill is in the Committee on Public Health, Senior Issues, Long Term Care and Privacy. It is vital for concerned citizens from all across Wisconsin to be at this public hearing. In addition, members of the committee can be contacted by phone as follows:
Senator Tim Carpenter, Chairman – 1-800-249-8173

Senator Dale Schultz – 1-800-978-8008
