Encourage Candidates to Participate in Values Voter Debate
VCY America, Faith2Action and many other values organizations are putting the final touches on a Values Voter Debate, to take place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 17. Invitations have been extended to all the announced and expected primary candidates, both Republican and Democrat.
No Democrat has chosen to participate, so apparently there will be no Democrat Values Voter Debate.
Many Republican hopefuls have accepted the invitation, choosing this debate over a proposed U-Tube debate to be sponsored by CNN on the same day, causing CNN to cancel their plans.
Several expected candidates have yet to say they will come.
We can help encourage the remaining candidates to join the others already expected. Please call the campaign offices of the following candidates, to ask them to please participate in the Values Voter Debate on September 17. They have already been asked by Faith2Action, so they should be aware of it.
These candidates have yet to respond:
Rudy Giuliani
Call 212-835-9449
Mitt Romney
Call 857-288-6400
John McCain
Call 703-418-2008
Fred Thompson (expected to announce soon)
Call 615-390-9944
Thank you for helping make a difference as we begin the process of choosing our next President! This debate will give values voters the most complete picture possible of where each candidate stands on the issues that concern us.
Please pray that God will reveal the true hearts of these candidates, and plan to watch or listen. It will be broadcast "live" or delayed on a number of satellite, television, and radio outlets, including VCY America. http://www.vcyamerica.org will also stream the debate "live" on September 17.
